VISION:

To empower women for protecting, maintaining and strengthening their dignity by developing human capabilities through quality education based on social values and make them responsible citizens who can work for the advancement of the society.

 

MISSION:

To encourage and engage women to met global developments.

 

OBJECTIVE:

  • To highlight the importance of health and hygiene.

  • To create awareness of women’s rights and their roles in the society.

  • To help them in knowing the importance of good health, nutrition and facilities available for them

  • The aim is that women should work with dignity and safety.

  • To provide the procedure for resolution, settlement by taking all necessary step in any kind of harassment.

  • To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well being of female student, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.

The Women Empowerment Cell actively mentors female students to excel in innovation and design, focusing on Sustainable Digital Well-being, Community Empowerment, and Water & Agriculture. As part of this initiative, students participated in TNWISE 2025 – TANCAM’s Hackathon for Women in Science and Engineering, organized by the Tamil Nadu government. This participation provided a platform for young women to showcase their technical and problem-solving skills

The Women Empowerment Cell of P.S.R Engineering College, Sivakasi in association with Virudhunagar District Administration & Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department has organized an Awareness Program for women about women’s rights and empowerment on 15.03.2025. More than 2000 students and 30 faculties were participated in this program. Dr V P Jeyaseelan, I.A.S, District Collector, Virudhunagar acted as a guest of Honours and address the gathering about legal rights, safety, and economic opportunities, potentially involving local organizations and government schemes.

On the Importance of healthy foods seminar conducted on 10-11-2021. Dr.P. Marichamy, Dean, insisted the students to take up the essential nutritious foods to lead a healthy life. Dr.K.Valarmathi, Convener of Women Empowerment Cell addressed the students with her motivational speech towards adapting nutritious and hygienic food habits in the revolutionary world.

Soft Skills webinar conducted on 14-09-2021 by Mrs Priyadarshini Vishwanathan-Director, DXC Technology . The importance of soft skills was highlighted in the webinar.

On the behalf of women empowerment cell Tree plantation drive was conducted on 13-07-2021. The importance of the tree plantation was highlighted in the drive.

National Immunization Awareness workshop conducted on 02-07-2021 and 03-07-2021. The Chief Guest of the workshop was Dr. Durai N. Padmanaban, Govt District Headquarters Hospital, Kovilpatti. The focus of the workshop was mainly to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages

Safe food today for healthy tomorrow webinar was conducted on 07-06-2021. The Chief Guest of the webinar was Mr. Suri Anantharaman, Sonline, USA. The focus of the webinar was mainly to create awareness about food-borne risks like diseases and help in preventing, detecting and managing untoward diseases, in the essence of contributing to sustainable human development through proper food security measures.

Awareness Program on Improving Women's Health which was conducted on 24-03-2021. Chief Guest Dr.S.Anbarasi ASP/EEE highlighted the importance of womens health.

Vaccine Awareness Campaign 2021 which was conducted on 20.03.2021.In the campaign how the pandemic has impacted almost every corner of life, causing global economies to stall, changing the way we work and interact with our loved ones, and stretching healthcare systems to the limit were indicated.

ICT Academy & DXC.Technology organized a social initiative Women Empowerment Summit on 08.03.2021

An awareness program on “Prohibition of child labour program” which was conducted on 21.01.2021 with about 27 participants. Ms.R.Ramani ASP/CSE, the speaker of the programme indicated how the ‘Child Labour’ depressed the children of their childhood, how their potential and their dignity has become harmful to their physical and mental development.

Career journey as a woman webinar which was conducted on 25-03-2021 from 7.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. about 100 students from the various departments participated. The Chief Guest Ms. Chalcy Raja shared her experiences and the challenges she faced during her career journey and shared some key points that would help everyone to reach their goals.
