LABORATORY DETAILS:

ELECTRICAL MACHINES LABORATORY

This Laboratory is established over a large carpet area of about 330 Sq.m. having D.C. machines, A.C. machines, Transformers, Rectifiers, Special machines, Various loads, Models worth about 17 Lakhs. Electrical Machines – I, Electrical Machines – II Lab classes are conducted in Electrical Machines Laboratory, also ECE and Mechanical Engineering Machines Lab classes can also be conducted in this Lab.

POWER ELECTRONICS LABORATORY

This Laboratory is sprawled over an area of about 169 Sq.m. and various equipments like DSO, CRO, AFO, Trainer Kits and other accessories worth about 10 Lakhs are available for the usage of students. Electric Circuits Lab, Electron Devices Lab, Electronic Circuits Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Micro Processor and Micro Controller Lab are conducted in this Lab.

MEASUREMENT AND INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY

The Laboratory is occupying an area of about 198 Sq.m. and CRO, Trainer Kits, machines, latest equipments along with other accessories worth about 10 Lakhs are available. Measurements and Instrumentation Lab, Control System Laboratory, Linear Integrated Circuits Lab, Electrical Engineering Lab, etc. are conducted in this Lab.

INDUSTRIAL DRIVES AND CIRCUIT LABORATORY

Electric Motor and Drive systems are ubiquitous in developed society and it falls to the profession of engineering to utilize these for the benefit of society. Successful engineering practice with Electric Motor and Drive systems requires a wide range of theoretical knowledge along with sufficient hands on training. On this accord, the industrial drives and control laboratory is offered in sixth semester that comprising the practical experiments for strengthening the concepts studying in the electrical/solid state drives subject. This Laboratory is sprawled over an area of about 10.4mx6.46m and various equipments like Micro controller based stepper motor speed controller, Micro controller based chopper speed controller and 10 number of INTEL CORE i3- PROCESSOR Computers with PSIM 9.3 and MATLAB 10 users are available about a worth of 10lakhs for the usage of students. The main experiments conducted in this laboratory focused on speed control of AC and DC motor with converter, inverter and chopper modules. The collection of output data and speed control analysis of AC DC drives can be experimented in both hardware module and software module using MATLAB Simulink. This lab can enhance the skill of students in the field of electric drives and to make sound engineering verdicts in designing modern controllers for real-world applications.

POWER SYSTEM SIMULATION LABORATORY

Power System Simulation Laboratory was established over an area of about 126.26 Sq.m which was worth about 12Lakhs. The Laboratory is furnished with 30 numbers of INTEL CORE i5 and i3 Processor computers loaded with software packages like MATLAB, and ETAP and Harmonic analyzer. This Laboratory enables the students to acquire knowledge in Power System Analysis, Power System Operation and Control, Power System Protection, Restructuring of Power System and Cable Sizing. Facilities are available for over current, under voltage, directional, differential and distance relays including different numerical relays.
Power System Simulation Laboratory helps the students, faculty and researchers to implement the advanced techniques in power systems such as phenomena for simulation; simulation techniques; role of physical models; system size needed; transmission modeling techniques; transformer modeling techniques; machine modeling techniques; protection, and control. Intranet provision for all conference papers, model aptitude tests, technical advancements etc is provided to the students. Internet connectivity provided for all students and staff.

PROJECT & RESEARCH LABORATORY

This Lab has provided a platform for students and research scholars to implement research-based projects under the guidance of faculty members established with a worth of 10Lakhs. The laboratory is facilitated with 10 numbers of INTEL CORE i3 Processor computers.Thefacilitiesare utilized by faculty members and students for their project and research works. The outcomes of the projects are resulted in publications in various journals and conference proceedings (both at national and international level). The research areas cover a wide range of topics which includes Power System, Evolutionary Computation, Power Electronics, Control and Instrumentation, High Voltage, IoT and Embedded Systems.
